Brick Museum vs other Karpacz attractions — what to pick for your plan? (2026)
Karpacz has many attractions — and you have limited time
Karpacz is one of the more tourist-rich towns in the Polish mountains. The chairlift to Kopa, several museums, multimedia attractions, pools, trails, local gems — the list is long. The problem appears when you have one or two days, a family budget and children of different ages. What to choose? What to skip? What absolutely can't drop out of the plan?
As the owners of the Brick Museum in Karpacz, running daily work here together with Magda since 6 January 2015, we meet families from all over Poland every day. We know which attraction combinations work — and which leave the impression of "we didn't make it".
Below, an honest comparison of the most important Karpacz attractions. It's not a ranking — every place has its strengths. It's more of a decision map to help you plan a trip suited to your family.
Brick Museum + Video Game Museum
Location: ul. Mickiewicza 11, entrance from ul. Konstytucji 3 Maja in Karpacz.
Who for: children from about 1.5 years, adult brick and retro game fans, families looking for an attraction independent of the weather.
Time: 40–60 min Brick Museum, about 1 h 30 min for both museums together (families often stay longer).
Price (family of 4): 120 PLN for the Brick Museum alone or 165 PLN for the combined "Two Museums" ticket. Children under 90 cm free.
Weather dependence: none — indoor attraction, open daily 10:00–18:00 (except 1 November).
Strengths: interactivity (buttons, joysticks, the SpaceX rocket launches, dozens of quests), three floors of exhibits, building zone integrated with a model, the widest age range, minifigure shop at the entrance.
Limits: strollers can't enter — entry only with the child in a carrier or in your arms (the stroller can be left at the shop counter). It's an indoor attraction — on a sunny day it's worth combining with outdoor activity.
Karkonoskie Tajemnice
Location: ul. Mickiewicza 1a, Karpacz — literally "around the corner" from our museum.
Who for: children from about 4 years (younger ones may get scared of the dimmed rooms), adults, fans of folklore and legends.
Time: about 60 minutes.
Price: 36 PLN regular, 29 PLN reduced.
Weather dependence: none — indoor attraction.
Strengths: a multimedia exhibit about the Spirit of the Mountains, the Walloons, glassmakers and the Laborants. More than 12 Karkonosze (Giant Mountains) legends presented interactively. A perfect complement to our two museums.
Limits: some sounds and dimmed spaces may intimidate younger children.
Chairlift to Kopa (Karpacz Ski Arena)
Location: lower station at ul. Olimpijska in Karpacz. Summit: Kopa, 1377 m above sea level.
Who for: children from about 4–5 years (riding with an adult), adults, mobile seniors.
Time: 1.5–3 hours (up, time at the top, down).
Price (adult): about 70 PLN up and down, reduced for kids. Current pricing at karpaczskiarena.pl.
Parking: 5 PLN/h or 30 PLN all day.
Weather dependence: high — in strong wind, fog or thunderstorm the lift is suspended or the view isn't worth the price.
Strengths: panorama of the entire Karkonosze and far into the Czech Republic. The experience of the chairlift ride itself. At the top, walking trails and a mountain shelter with hot tea.
Limits: after the 2018 modernisation the lift has 4-person seats + two gondolas for people with mobility limitations — comfort is significantly greater than before. In winter, a warm jacket and gloves are mandatory at the summit. In bad weather the ride makes no sense.
Wang Temple
Location: Karpacz Górny, ul. Na Śnieżkę 8.
Who for: families interested in history and architecture, older children, seniors.
Time: 30–45 minutes (the visit itself + walk through Karpacz Górny).
Price: 12 PLN adult, 7 PLN child from age 6.
Weather dependence: low — the temple's interior offers shelter.
Strengths: a wooden church from the 12th century, brought from Norway between 1841 and 1844. An unusual structure, atmosphere, history. Karpacz Górny is the calmer part of town — in 2026 an extra argument in favour, when the centre is dug up.
Limits: for very small children it's more a parent attraction than a kid one.
"Kolorowa" Summer and Winter Toboggan Run
Location: "Kolorowa" Recreation and Sports Centre, Karpacz.
Who for: children from about 3–4 years (riding with an adult), older kids on their own.
Time: 1–2 hours (a few rides).
Price: current pricing at kolorowa.pl/cennik.
Weather dependence: moderate — riding in the rain is less pleasant, but possible.
Strengths: a Karpacz classic, a kids' favourite. Alpine sledges on a special track, you control your own speed. Open all year.
Kamieńczyk Waterfall (Szklarska Poręba — NOT Karpacz!)
Location: Szklarska Poręba, about 30 minutes by car from Karpacz. It's NOT a Karpacz attraction — many guides confuse this.
Who for: children from about 4–5 years (an easy but unpaved trail).
Time: 60–90 minutes (return trip).
Weather dependence: low — the waterfall is even more impressive after rain.
Strengths: the highest natural waterfall in the Polish Sudetes (27 m). A classic attraction worth including in your plan if you have a full weekend.
Limits: the trail is unpaved, you can't get there with a stroller — with a baby only in a carrier.
Toy Museum in Szklarska Poręba
Location: ul. Jedności Narodowej 16, Szklarska Poręba — about 30 minutes by car from Karpacz.
Who for: children 3–12 years, families with diverse toy interests.
Time: 30–60 minutes.
Weather dependence: none.
Strengths: our second museum, run by the same family. Hot Wheels, Barbie, Monster High, Sylvanian Families, bricks, retro games, a plush collection, Pop Mart, Labubu, Pokémon. For younger kids often more engaging than models.
How to combine? Our recommendations
One day in Karpacz with kids 4–10 years
Plan A (good weather): 9:00 chairlift to Kopa → 12:00 lunch → 14:00 "Kolorowa" Toboggan Run → 16:00 Brick Museum + Video Game Museum until 18:00 closing.
Plan B (bad weather): 10:00 Brick Museum + Video Game Museum → 13:00 lunch → 14:30 Karkonoskie Tajemnice → 16:00 pool at Hotel Gołębiewski.
Weekend with kids (2 days)
Day 1: morning at our museums + minifigure shop → lunch → afternoon Wang Temple → evening Karkonoskie Tajemnice.
Day 2: morning chairlift to Kopa → 30-min drive to Szklarska Poręba for the Toy Museum + Kamieńczyk Waterfall.
Family with a very small child (up to 3 years)
With a baby we go for: our museums (child in a carrier), Wang Temple, short walks through Karpacz Górny, hotel pool. Chairlift to Kopa and higher trails — for another season. Details in Karpacz with a baby.
Promenade renovation — seasonal note 2026
In 2026 the promenade in central Karpacz is completely dug up. Shops and restaurants on the promenade still operate, but it's hard to walk through and the sight of construction work spoils the charm. If you care about an atmospheric walk through the centre — this year shift it toward Karpacz Górny (Wang Temple area).

Summary — from the owners of the Brick Museum
There's no wrong choice among Karpacz attractions — only a question of fitting them to the children's ages, the weather and available time. The strongest "backbone" of a family plan in Karpacz is: our two museums (Brick + Video Game) + Karkonoskie Tajemnice (next door) + chairlift to Kopa + Wang Temple + "Kolorowa" Toboggan Run. Plus optionally the Gołębiewski pool for a bad day and the Toy Museum in Szklarska Poręba.
